To those of you who ask me why are my prices so expensive, here’s why? The cost of your custom dress depends on the quality of what you're requesting. Take this for an example........The fabric below has beaded embellishments on it. These fabrics are hand made and are high end fabrics. The prettier the fabric the more the cost! $120/ yard is actually a great price for this kind of fabric especially since it’s hand made. Most mermaid/ floor length gowns with trains require a minimum 5-8 yards of fabric. That cost does not include the lining fabric which runs around $12/ yard and that also needs to be 5-8 yards. Two yards of Ostrich feathers is going to cost $140. Then there’s the sewing fee + the cost of notions which are your threads, tule, fasteners and zippers. I do work with individuals on a budget however you will not get the same quality in materials. There are still ways to look nice however you should always be cognizant of the fact that custom clothing is not cheap and that you aren’t going to get a red carpet replica on a budget under $1000.
